Inspiring students to learn and love life science
Founded as a nonprofit organization in 2011, BioBuilder is now the most comprehensive training program for engineering biology. We support teachers and students with in-school and out-of-school programming in nearly every US state and 35 countries. Our flagship classroom curriculum, textbook, and lab kits are based on the undergraduate curriculum in synthetic biology taught in MIT’s Department of Biological Engineering. In 2020, to meet new and urgent needs in education, BioBuilder launched a suite of online learning programs adapted from our curriculum.

The BioBuilder Educational Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax-deductible and all proceeds go directly to funding the foundation’s programs and materials.
